HOW TO GO TO HYDRA

1. By Flying Dolphins

By hydrofoils
that depart from the port of Piraeus, several different hours during the day.

The trip lasts for 1.30 hour.

Please get in contact with the Port Authorities of Piraeus to 210-41.47.800 in order to get informed about the departures from the port of Piraeus. You will be greeted by an answering machine.

2. By private boat
where you can anchor at the main port of Hydra or in one of the ports of Mandraki, Kamini, Vliho, Palamida, Bisti, Molo Saint Nikolaos, the island next to Hydra Dokos, or to the cove of Skinto, where the most ancient shipwreck was discovered.

3. By Car

From Athens the distance to Poros, by car, is approximately 150 klm.


Through the National Road Athens-Korinthos, we go left, after the isthmus of Corinth, to Epidavros.
From Epidavros, we follow the newly opened road and in 10 min. we reach the place Kalloni.

From Kalloni, in 15 min. we reach Galata, that is across Poros IslandThe road is an extension of the National Road and for your trip you will need 1 hour and 45 min.From there you follow the coastal road and in a half an hour and less you find yourselves at Metoxi.

Metoxi is a place opposite the island of Hydra, where there is a parking space for you to leave your car and cross to the other side in Hydra.

You can cross over to Hydra in 25 minutes or with the boat "FREEDOM ╔ & ╔╔ & III", or with "METOCHI EXPRESS" which have got daily schedules or with some sea taxi which you will call by phone.

4. From Hermioni, for those who come by car from Kranidi, Porto Cheli, Kosta or other regions of the Peloponnese or from Athens, they can pass to Hydra island with the boat SPEED BOAT "CHRISTOS", daily, in 30 minutes.

5. By helicopter

There is no heliport, but there is a special flat area near the town, which is being used, as a heliport, by helicopters.
