Hydra - Zoubra: 2 hour& 45 min. Medium, difficult Route

You are walking the route port of Hydra to Mandraki area and then onwards to the nunnery Church of Saint Nikolaos. Crossing the path-way you will meet a lot of abandoned houses, which used to inhadited by shepherds and their family. The road continues till the mountain "Ompori" meaning sheep station.

From that point and untill the Monastery of Zoubras, you meet a lot of small churches which were built in the 18th century. Some of these are : Saint Paraskevi, Prophet Elias, Saint Gearge. During your walking for the Monastery of Zoubra, you see two dried rivers.

The 18th century Holy Monastery of the Birth of Theotokos of Zouvra is at 180 meters altitude, at the rocky mountainside of Ano Zouvra. After the Holy Monastery of Zouvra, we meet the hidden small church of Saint Ioanikios.

Walking from there a difficult route 500 meters further we reach the stone made lighthouse of Zouvras built from 1883. The lighthouse is 10 meters high and was destryed by the germans during the second world war. It was built again after the war at 1946. From 1989 has became automated.
